About The Event
We will have a tour of the teaching zoo at Moorpark College!
Family and friends are able to join this event! Adults and children ages 3+ are $5, children ages 0-2 are free. Please make a ticket and fill out information for each member in your party, including ages 0-2.
PLEASE ARRIVE AT 10 AS THE TOUR BEGINS PROMPTLY AT 10:30
Itinerary:
10:30am – Meet at Gate to begin Tour
10:35am – Introduction to The Teaching Zoo and the Animal Care and Training Program
10:45am – Introduce and highlight animals in Wildlife Theater
11:15am – Bathroom break
11:30am – Tour of Primates, Treatment Room & Kitchen
12:15pm – Hawk Flight Demonstration – Front Road by Carns
12:30pm – Tour of Alumni Aviary with Training Demonstration
12:50pm – Bathroom Break/Snack
1:00pm – Blood Draw Training Demonstration with Tigers & Galapagos Tortoise 1:30pm – End of Tour/Welcome to stay
The Zoo does not have a food vendor on-site, but their student club offers a selection of chips and cookies for sale. You are welcome to bring your own snacks and beverages. A Starbucks and some similar places are near the zoo. Please plan accordingly.
